Federal Government continue to closed all schools in the country since March 26 to stop the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
They didn't give clear details of what will happen next to school calendar for the year 2020 academic calendar.
During the Presidential taskforce on Covid-19 on May 27 2020, Minister of Education, Professor Nwajiuba said that the ministry will release guidelines on how things will be if schools resume
They will limit the number of children per class, class will hold in the morning and afternoon so as to handle the issue of social distancing, the minister also added that all schools will be fumigated before resumption.
Chairman of the taskforce, Boss Mustapha also added that states and local governments should put measures in place so early so that schools can resume, Federal government update on school resumption came on June 29, 2020 when Nigeria Presidential taskforce on Covid-19 announced plans to allow students that want to write exams should open for revision ahead of their graduating exams.
The West African Board of Examination Council's have set the final timetable exam which is set to begin between August 4, 2020 and September 5
It is not clear on what to expect on when schools will finally reopen in West African countries or maybe final year students will partake in the 2020 West African Examination Council but, the West African Examination Council (WAEC) through the mouth of WAEC Head of Nigeria Office (HNO), Patrick Areghan that the body are still reviewing the situation and it will be make known to the public very soon.
Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone are the country members that will partake in the joint Examination (WAEC)
